The partnership between Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz is proving to be an excellent one for Ferrari so far. The pair, however, are not on the same level according to a former two-time world champion. Between the pair, Charles is handling the pressure better, according to Emerson Fittipaldi.

The pressure is always immense at Scuderia, and Sainz might not see it till the end. Sainz is already lagging and is not able to make the most of the F1-75. With Leclerc leading the world championship from the start, Sainz has finished only three of the five races. Every point is vital in this race towards championship glory and there is a lot of pressure on both the drivers.

“They were the championship favorites at the start of the season. They showed they have a lot of potential. But now Red Bull is on the rise, creating even more pressure.” said the Brazilian world champion.

The pairing of Leclerc and Sainz is world-class, no doubt! But not all drivers handle the pressure similarly. And with Red Bull on their tail, the Ferrari men need to handle that pressure well.

“So in addition to the pressure from Ferrari itself, the Italian media and all Tifosi, there is now the pressure from Red Bull. That team has done its homework well and is now able to increase the pressure. I feel like Carlos suffers from that enormous pressure.”

And this might be the reason Emerson also said, “I think Charles is a little better at that, yes. The amount of pressure is the same for both, but it seems he can accept more.”

And this is the reason the Brazilian thinks Sainz needs to come to terms with it, and consistently perform. But apart from the criticism, he thinks Sainz will be excellent in his home Grand Prix and even believes Sainz might book his first Grand Prix victory in Barcelona.
