After a perfect lap under the Singapore floodlights, Lewis Hamilton snatched the pole position. Mercedes were expected to struggle at the Marina Bay Track. However, a touch of class from Lewis Hamilton ensured he won the race and open up a 40-point lead over championship rival Sebastian Vettel.

Despite his brilliance on the racetrack, Lewis was criticized for his constant travel between the Italian and the Singapore GP. His travel plans didn’t necessarily impress a lot of people. Wolff said, “It’s six years I have heard ‘how can you allow Lewis to get off and fly around the world?'”

He came here, rock and roll, and blew everybody away. Let’s just be non-judgemental and allow everybody to judge how they perform best. He knows best what’s good for him.”
