The Formula 1 world witnessed a rare and incredible scene as Kevin Magnussen picked up his first-ever F1 pole. The Haas star driver had a brilliant flying lap just before the red flag caused by George Russell. And that was enough for the Danish international to start from P1 tomorrow. Even though Magnussen got a bit lucky, that didn’t stop the fans from congratulating him on social media.

As the time ran out for other cars to go out and try to snatch the pole position from Magnussen, the crew members of the American team erupted in joy. As they celebrated the rare feat, Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari watched in despair.

However, 2022 Champion Max Verstappen was the first one to congratulate Magnussen on his rare achievement. As the Haas driver approached post qualification interview, he couldn’t believe that he starts tomorrow’s sprint ahead of everyone else, in a Haas. Moreover, he now has more poles than Lewis Hamilton in 2022. Astonishing!

Fans react as they saw Kevin Magnussen pick up the pole position

As the final update has come about Magnussen’s pole, F1 fans couldn’t wait but to congratulate the 30-year-old driver on social media. Magnussen, however, will thank Russell, who went off the track and brought a red flag and rain for helping him achieve this feat.

With this, Haas has also become the first ever American team to take a pole since 1975 British Grand Prix. This probably could be the best birthday gift to their owner, Gene Haas, in the coming days.
