Since joining Mercedes as the team principal in 2013, Toto Wolff has gone on to become one of the most successful team bosses in Formula 1. And on his special day, a ton of fans join his wife Susie Wolff and his team in celebrating his birthday as the Austrian turned 52 on January 12. The timing couldn’t be better for Toto himself, as his birthday falls right in the middle of the Formula 1 winter break, giving him plenty of time to celebrate the occasion without getting bogged down by the grueling demands of the F1 season.
However, this year, Toto Wolff will not be feeling as happy as he normally would because of the drama that unfolded about a month ago between the FIA and his wife Susie Wolff regarding the ‘conflict of interest’ allegations. The pressure to get Mercedes back to the top step of the constructors’ championship will also be weighing down on him. But despite these challenges, Toto Wolff found just the right way to help his family relax during the winter break.

Susie Wolff offered us a glimpse into what she labeled as “digital detox“ through an Instagram post. The post reflects a picturesque winter paradise – pristine slopes and breathtaking mountain views. His wife shared pictures of Wolff and little Jack taking up snow skiing.

To add to Toto’s adventurous 3-week celebration, he got one of the best gifts just a couple of days before his birthday in the form of a new strategic partnership with a global automotive technology company, Luminar. This collaboration will help bring technologies developed by Luminar and Mercedes-Benz to the Formula 1 team.
