Recently, Mercedes teammates, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas opened up about each other. Ahead of the season-opener at the Bahrain Grand Prix, the two of them quizzed each other on various subjects. Needless to say, they both had a good time talking about their various quirks and other personal details.

Among other topics, Bottas asked Hamilton about team principal Toto Wolff. To be precise, he asked about the last time the Austrian team boss lost his temper. Bottas mused that he often watched video clips where Wolff would slam his fist on a table. Meanwhile, Hamilton said, “Angriest I’ve seen Toto would probably be one of the times Nico [Rosberg] and I crashed. Probably Barcelona was the angriest I’ve ever seen him. I definitely saw bald patches, he pulled out parts of his hair.”

The Finn recalled the 2019 German Grand Prix, where both drivers had struggled. On that day, Hamilton had his struggles, while Bottas crashed out late in the race. To make matters worse for them, they were celebrating a special occasion and things did not work in their favor that day.

According to him, Wolff was overheard muttering that it would be the last time ‘they played carnival at a race weekend’. On that day, Hamilton messed up when he entered the pit lane in the wrong area. So, the onus was on Bottas to bring the car home and get some results for the team on its anniversary.

Unfortunately, he lost control of his car and crashed out of the race. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton was not fairing any better, as he had other shenanigans, which culminated in him scraping a points finish. Since then, they have moved on and chalked it up as a minor bad day in the office, while they dominated the rest of the season.
