With their latest attempts, Andretti’s attempts to become a part of F1 are still ongoing. However, Andretti might face denial again with most F1 entities opposing another team on the grid.

The apprehension from the F1 fraternity is a frustrating prospect and Andretti’s resurfaced comments showcase that frustration. Andretti criticized the “snobbish attitude” and also pointed out this attitude is “not constructive”. Criticizing your way into an organization does not seem like the way to go, but Michael Andretti is trying.

In an interview with the GQ for F1 in 1993, Michael Andretti said, “It was a definite European club. And I’m getting the feeling it’s still the European club, the way we’re being treated.”

He added, “It’s a very snobbish approach they’re taking. Ultimately, we’re going to bring more value than we’re going to take away.”

The comments confused Guenther Steiner, Haas’s team principal. He could not understand the motivation behind these comments and issued a word of advice to Andretti.

He said, “I don’t know what he’s trying to achieve with these comments but that’s down to Michael.”

And added, “Obviously, in my opinion, these comments, they’re not constructive, or, you know, taking [things] forward but you live by your choices.”

Andretti announced his attempt to enter the traveling circus by 2024 but has made little progress so far. His wishes could’ve been granted earlier, but his deal to secure Sauber run Alfa Romeo collapsed last year.

However, Andretti did not stop at Sauber. He revealed one other team he tried to purchase.

Andretti is facing a lot of obstacles in his bid to enter F1, and he is trying to overcome all of them. In the attempt to enter the premier racing competition, Andretti has also looked into the option of buying an existing F1 team.

And in one of those attempts, Andretti turned his attention to the Haas F1 team. Andretti revealed that he made a “million” attempts to buy the Haas F1 team. However, his attempts hit a brick wall, as his compatriot Gene Haas did not budge.
