Lewis Hamilton is racing in the 16th season of his career and it’s safe to say he’s seen it all. So it is only natural for Hamilton to part his immeasurable wisdom to younger drivers like Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. The two Ferrari men are enduring a difficult season themselves after a superb start.

Following Leclerc’s yet another unfortunate crash from a leading position in France, Hamilton has shared his thoughts.

“It’s been great to see the pace of the Ferrari this year. I’m gutted for Charles, who’s being doing a great job, as has Carlos. It’s not easy though, having that pace and that performance and maintaining it,” said Hamilton. The Mercedes man has encountered almost all scenarios in his career, especially after the 2021 season.

He concluded with some words of wisdom for Leclerc, Sainz, and Co. He concluded, “It’s a tough job and I feel for the whole team because I know what that can feel like. But they’re a great team, and they’ll continue to keep their heads down.”

The 2022 regulations have caught everyone off guard and “continue to keep their heads down” has become a common theme. Ferrari started off brilliantly but is struggling with reliability because of which they’ve lost hugely important points.

Most teams have struggled across the grid, and Mercedes is one of the best examples of that.

The likes of Sir Jackie Stewart, Bernie Ecclestone, and David Coulthard, to name a few, have all criticized Hamilton. And these comments from the F1 fraternity were majorly due to his poor start to the new season.

However, Sir Lewis Hamilton is not one to stay down. The W13 is a much more competitive car now and Hamilton is showcasing exactly that. His P2 finish in France, which was his fourth consecutive podium, and the leaping start in front of Perez speak for themselves. The Mercedes pair even earned the first double podium of the season. Safe to say things are looking up in the Mercedes paddock.
