Red Bull was handed with a hefty blow from FIA after being found guilty of breaching the cost cap. The Milton-Keynes team was the only team to have breached and overspent the $145M budget cap. Additionally, they were also guilty of a procedural breach along with Aston Martin Racing.

Red Bull Racing were deemed guilty of exceeding the cap by $2.2 million last season. However, the FIA did admit that the cost would have been significantly lower if not for RBR wrongfully submitting incorrect tax reports. Moreover, Christian Horner questioned the FIA how their rivals had the information of a potential breach by Red Bull.

Meanwhile, former F1 driver for Ensign, Tiff Needell, has urged Horner to accept the penalties and “let it go”. Tiff Needell said, “Horner now demanding an investigation into how their breaking of the cost cap was leaked! Just let it go Christian, you’ve won both titles, just let it go.”
