The first race of the 2022 season is only a few hours away and soon drivers will line up for the starting grid according to the Saturday qualifier results. Ferrari and Red Bull will be leading the line-up with Mercedes in P5. However, the most surprising entry in the starting grid’s top 10 is Haas at P7.
The American constructor was not only impressive in the Bahrain qualifiers and practice, but also the pre-season testing. Also, Ferrari has been phenomenal this season and Haas is also using the same engine as Ferrari. Therefore, many fans are pointing out that Haas is doing so well because of the Ferrari power unit. Fans even started calling Haas F1 ‘white Ferrari.’

Team Principal Guenther Steiner finds it amusing when fans call their cars Ferrari for doing well and all praises stop when they are in a bad form. The Haas boss further shares his ideology that others envy his team is a sign of his F1 team’s improvement.

Steiner shared, “You know, these allegations have always existed and always will. I stay calm. If we are good, they call our car “White Ferrari”. If we’re bad, then no. I’m starting to find that ridiculous. You have to work hard for envy. You get pity for free. I wish the others would green with envy. Because that means that we did a very good job. Let’s see how the greatest footballer in German football history used to say.”
Can Haas F1 win races in 2022
Haas F1 had a very poor season last year, finishing bottom in the constructor table with not a single point. Therefore, they were working hard on the 2022 challenger VF-22. It seems the hard work is already paying off.
The American constructor was phenomenal in the pre-season testing. Last season, they couldn’t even make their way past through Q1. But this year they have not only passed Q1 but also reached Q3 in Bahrain. The young driver Mick Schumacher finished P12 while the new addition Kevin Magnussen finished P7 in the Bahrain Qualifier.

The American F1 team might still not be able to win races, but, they still have the potential to fight for finishing high in the races this season. Haas F1 looks strong and they can even fight against McLaren this season for the mid-table finish.
