“Great taste”: Fans Hail Fernando Alonso’s Supremacy as Young Fan Sparks the Idol Debate with Lance Stroll

Another day, another livery launch is past us! This time we are discussing the Aston Martin AMR23. Aston Martin revealed their 2023 challenger among the fans with a small launch event. The event, however, took an interesting turn as the fans got an opportunity to interact with the drivers. It was during this interaction that a young fan became an internet sensation after sparking the idol debate between Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

A young fan, during the livery launch, asked Lance Stroll who was his biggest idol growing up. Stroll replied, “Michael Schumacher. I was just a fan of the sport growing up. I loved racing. You know, I watched Fernando in my young years growing up. You know, he was the guy winning races and championships. But I’m not going to lie, I was cheering for Michael at the time..”

Keeping in mind, Lance Stroll’s teammate Alonso he’s been racing for over a decade in the sport. The Spaniard faced many a foe during his time in the sport. Moreover, it was Alonso who ended Michael Schumacher’s championship-winning run by winning the 2005 F1 championship.

The young fan sparked the debate but also ended it when David Croft asked him, “So who’s your idol now?” The young fan replied, “My idol is Fernando Alonso.”

This reply from the young fan made him an instant favorite among the Alonso fanbase.

Alonso is a fierce rival for anyone that goes against him, his former teammate attests to that. So, the 2023 season won’t be a cakewalk for the young Canadian-Belgian driver. This idol debate might’ve given Alonso the extra push to run rampant against his teammate in the upcoming season. Additionally, the Spaniard definitely got some confidence boost at the Aston Martin livery launch.

We can clearly see, apart from Alonso, his fans are loving the young fan’s answer.

Fans are also commending the young lad’s “Great taste” as well.
