“I prefer what we have now because, first of all, Charles, I know very well. He is a nice guy,” said Max Verstappen about battling it out with Charles Leclerc. While we did see a rare glimpse of Leclerc almost rupturing his voice box screaming during the 2022 French GP, the man has always had a ‘nice guy’ image. But do nice guys really finish last? An aspect of his attitude may stand in his way of championship dreams.

In 2022, Charles Leclerc finished second in the championship behind Max Verstappen. But to put things in perspective, he was almost 150 points behind Max. Leclerc has always been a talent to reckon with. When he arrived at Ferrari, he had the mighty Sebastian Vettel for competition and he outperformed him. However, the pomp and show and “the longest contract in the history of Scuderia Ferrari” haven’t fared well with the Monegasque. And now questions about his sweet gut image are being raised because any driver who has gone on to win the WDC has been brutally hungry. Does that thumb rule apply to Leclerc?

In The Last Lap podcast, the hosts are seen and heard discussing the Ferrari man’s rendezvous with his watch thieves. Then they went on to talk about how the man cannot fight and if that is the case, can he claim the championship? The host said, “Charles is not a fighter, mate. I can’t imagine him scrapping. He is a great driver but you know he is not gonna dog in if it’s his fight. He’s a great driver, but he’s not got that dog in him. He’s not winning a fist-to-fist fight.”

Charles Leclerc asks fans to respect his privacy

It is not very difficult to find the residence of an F1 driver, as they are all bunched up in the small principality of Monaco. And the man who has come out as a victim of the very public information is Charles Leclerc. However, he did take to social media to let the fans know that it is not a very cool thing to do.

Leclerc wrote, “Hey everyone, For the past few months, my home address has somehow become public, leading to people gathering beneath my apartment, ringing my bell, and asking for pictures and autographs. While I’m always happy to be there for you and I truly appreciate your support, please respect my privacy and refrain from coming to my house.

“I’ll make sure to stop for everyone when you see me on the streets or at the track, but I won’t be coming downstairs if you visit my home. Your support, both in person and on social media, means the world to me, but there is a boundary that should not be crossed. Happy Easter everyone”
