Some may say that not putting the car on the front is disappointing. However, Charles Leclerc was extremely pleased with his P4 qualifying on Friday afternoon, as he knows he can be a threat to the leaders up the grid.

The Monegasque missed out by not putting his Ferrari into the top-3, as Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Valtteri Bottas all brought their A-game to the Silverstone circuit. Nonetheless, Leclerc is confident in his pace and knows he can improve in tomorrow’s sprint race.

Charles Leclerc was overjoyed with qualifying in fourth place

As the 23-year-old was slowing down, after putting a mega lap in the last round of qualifying. Leclerc was told by his race engineer that he qualified P4, many thought Charles would be disappointed with the result. However, it turned out to be the exact opposite, as he was extremely pleased with the outcome.

He said on the team radio, “Yes guys, let’s go. There was a little bit of strange noise with the engine going into the pits. Maybe we can check, might be nothing, just for you to know. Anyway good job guys.”

Can he find the pace in tomorrow’s sprint race?

The Ferrari driver will be motivated as he will be starting in fourth place in tomorrow’s sprint qualifying round. Leclerc knows there will be a mammoth task ahead of him. As he will have to battle the likes, of Bottas, Verstappen, and Hamilton if he wants to crack the top-3.

Furthermore, with points being awarded to the top-3 drivers, Leclerc will certainly step up his game and bag crucial points for himself and the Maranello-based team tomorrow afternoon. Currently, sitting fourth in the constructor’s standings, Leclerc will hope to take them ahead in the championship.
