We are well underway into the second half of the F1 grid revealing their 2023 cars and the latest to join the party is Aston Martin. At first look, the livery looks pretty much exactly the same as last year’s. However, on closer inspection, when one looks for the technical changes, the Red Bull influence is very apparent. That being said, there is enough influence from the designs of other teams’ last year’s cars as well, including Alpine’s. Overall, fans were quite happy with what the Silverstone-based team put out for Fernando Alonso to compete with.
As the season of car launches kicked off, some teams kept a conservative approach by revealing just the new livery. Among the first to break the trend was Alfa Romeo, who revealed their actual 2023 contender. As it turns out, McLaren has followed the same approach, as has Aston Martin. Both teams launched their new cars on the same day.

In 2021, Aston Martin set out a target for themselves to compete for the championship in 5 years. Since then, they have made some big changes to the team that, at first sight, looked positive. To begin with, it even showed in the results. However, the 2022 season turned out to be a big disappointment as the team finished 7th in the standings. The commitment to excel was unwavering though as they roped in Red Bull’s Chief of Aerodynamics Dan Fallows as their new Technical Director.
Going one step further, they even got seasoned campaigner Fernando Alonso on the team. Speaking with the media after the launch of AMR23, Alonso revealed his grounded approach for the upcoming season. He talked about being positive for the future, but also having realistic ambitions, knowing that they cannot compete for race wins just yet.
Have a look at the reactions from the fans to the pictures of the new car revealed by F1 and Aston Martin on Twitter.
I loved this look last year and I love it just as much again although I would add more yellow to the wings. 9.5/10. https://t.co/lKj0YkQtN2

One fan was positive this car was going to turn Aston Martin’s dwindling fate with Alonso at the helm.
Amazing shade of green. Not much changes. Expecting them to outperform in the mid pack. Go Fernando!!!! My rating – 8/10 https://t.co/Unue0JKrhQ

There were a few fans who were not too impressed with the similar livery from last year. One particular fan even deducted some points for Sebastian Vettel‘s absence.
It’s somehow the same but also worse.
I like the green, but it’s kinda uninspired. Plus Sebastian Vettel isn’t driving it, so that’s points away.
