“I love cars, I love Formula 1, I love everything about motorsport.”, said the defector who was paid $30,000,000 from the arrangement as he signed a contract with LIV golf in 2022 leaving the PGA legacy behind. This Golfer is reported to not take part in the 2023 PGA championship as well. However, he continues to express his interest in F1, revealing how he packed Max Verstappen Memorabilia. What did this golfer pack? Who is this LIV defector?
Ian Poulter, as we all know, is a huge Arsenal Fan. It makes sense for him to support an English club as he was born in England. The Englishman is also a huge F1 fanatic. Poulter was spotted watching the 2021 Emilia Romagna GP while playing a tournament. The Golfer also took part in a Virtual F1 GP with Real Madrid Star Thibaut Courtois. Poulter has been spotted multiple times playing golf with the F1 stars, including Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz.
The Englishman is a Tifosi and has a huge Ferrari collection. A report suggested that Poulter has 14 Ferraris in his collection. The Golfer said, “My passion for Ferrari is pretty strong,”. However, despite being a Ferrari fan and playing golf with Sainz, Poulter recently celebrated some valuable Max Verstappen collectibles. The 47-year-old took to Instagram and uploaded a story of this collectible. The collectibles were Max Verstappen Topps’ card and the Chrome edition.

The caption suggests that Ian Poulter is going to send the card for grading to know the real value of the card. However, Poulter isn’t only interested in drivers but very keenly into the technical side of the sport as well.

F1 introduced a new concept of cars in 2022. The ground effect was brought back to ensure closer racing. There are certain parameters for the length and width of the car. However, Ian Poulter, with his eagle eyes, noticed that there was some variation in the wheelbase of different cars. F1 doesn’t exactly have to be a certain number. There is usually a number that one cannot exceed. The team has little liberty to find the one that works the best for them.
Poulter asked on his Instagram story “Ok someone must know this answer. I’m noticing different length wheelbases between some of the new F1 cars that have been released. Is there a +- that the teams work too for this? The @astonmartinf1 looks to be a shorter wheelbase.” He eventually got the answer and posted “Difference… The @mclaren with a longer wheelbase to the Aston.”
