In today’s day and age, being a Formula 1 driver is a proper full-time job. Naturally, it becomes very difficult for the drivers to take some time out for themselves or their families. The rigors of being the best of the best when it comes to motorsport is a real task for these men. However, the younger generation is changing the established norm. Drivers like Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc have shown us that even with the commitments of a full-time race seat, you can take some time out to enjoy the other pleasures of life.

Recently, Leclerc, during the almost month-long off, showcased to the entire world his knack for making music. Similarly, young Lando Norris has interests outside the racetrack, too. The 23-year-old has now become an avid golfer. And through this association, the world of F1 has intermingled regularly with the world of golf.

Norris is pretty well-known now in the Golfing circles. Hence, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he has rubbed shoulders with some of Golf’s rising superstars. Recently, Joaquín Niemann, the 24-year-old LIV series golfer who defected from the PGA Tour and Norris, met up.

Norris reveals the best golfer he’s come across

Norris arguably doesn’t get a lot of time to practice the art of golf. However, even though this is because of his F1 career, his introduction to the sport is also thanks to his sojourn with F1. It all began when he became teammates with another avid Golfer at McLaren; Carlos Sainz.

While talking about who he regards as a better golfer than him, he wrote, “Maybe I’ll get a few tips off Carlos. I reckon he’s probably the best golfer among us F1 drivers. Him or Lance Stroll. I think they must be off six or seven whereas I’m currently off 14.5, having been down at 12 or 13,” in his Telegraph column.
