If there’s one sportsperson from the golfing world, who is a universal household name, it’s Tiger Woods. The Golf legend needs no introduction with his heaps of success on the greens. As popular as Tiger has become over the years, even Max Verstappen is climbing that ladder in the F1 community. Although Verstappen has a long way to go to become a household name, he’s well on his way to becoming one with his rich vein of form & so do F1 experts think.
While Verstappen and Red Bull are taking the F1 world by storm, the golf world is facing its own shocks. The PGA Tour and LIV Golf, who have been fighting each other for over a year to become the dominant tour in golf, decided to form a $3,000,000,000 merger out of nowhere. But while they were fighting it out, Woods and Rory McIlroy decided to launch a joint venture—TMRW Sports, and as part of their events, they will launch the TGL Golf League in 2024. They’re looking to make waves in the golfing world with TGL just like Red Bull and Max Verstappen are already doing in F1.

It’s no secret that Red Bull has built an unbeatable car this season. It’s won all seven of the races so far, with Verstappen winning five of them. And with Max on pole for the Canadian GP today, Red Bull is on its way to achieving its 100th win as a constructor in F1.
Red Bull’s technical director, Adrian Newey, is a mastermind, especially when it comes to regulation changes. So when F1 brought in an overhaul of changes in 2022, it was almost certain Red Bull would have a car that would be difficult to beat. And it did. While it was outperformed by other cars occasionally in 2022, no one was prepared for the beast that would run the tracks in 2023. And it’s safe to say that, so far, the Milton Keynes outfit has decimated the competition.
In the latest episode of the F1 Nation Podcast, Natalie Pinkham and Tom Clarkson discussed this very dominance. And Clarkson concluded that instead of thinking about statistics and numbers—and questions like, ‘Will Red Bull win every race in 2023?’—we should “celebrate the dominance of Red Bull. It’s Tiger Woods in his pomp, it’s Man City doing their thing now. It is sporting excellence, and I’m loving it.” Tiger Woods, when he was Verstappen’s age, was unbeatable. He was in a league of his own, much like what Verstappen is doing in F1.
Red Bull and Max are looking to go into 2024 with both championships once again. And Tiger Woods would want to start 2024 with the promise of a successful first edition of the TGL League despite the mega $3 billion PGA-LIV merger now done. Verstappen’s arch-rival may help him in that regard.

Lewis Hamilton always becomes the crossover man by meeting & befriending other sporting legends. Tiger Woods is no exception to Lewis’ friendly aura. When Woods launched TMRW Sports, Hamilton was its first investor from outside the golfing world. Besides the Briton, many other athletes joined in to help the agency in its efforts to take a progressive approach toward sports, including Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris. Another notable name that invested in TMRW was tennis queen and a good friend of Hamilton’s, Serena Williams.
So when TMRW announced the TGL League, Serena Williams bought the first of six teams that’ll participate in it. Considering how close Hamilton and Williams are, will Hamilton buy a team in the TGL to help Tiger Woods?
