It’s the 2023 Las Vegas GP weekend and the celebrations are afoot. For starters, Netflix took a “swing” at increasing its popularity and ventured into a new stream with the help of two of the most popular sports in the US, Golf and F1. Yes, we are talking about the Netflix Cup which featured a couple of teams of two go head to head each including one F1 star and one professional Golfer. However, this is where Alex Albon, while participating, failed his primary objective and was mocked by his professional golfer girlfriend before his opponent came to his rescue.

That’s right, Alex Albon’s girlfriend Lily Muni, and his opponent in the other team Alpine man Pierre Gasly reversed roles in terms of comforting the Thai-British driver for embarrassing himself. In fact, the Chinese golfer went as far as channeling her inner Taylor Swift to mock her boyfriend.

Netflix took advantage of golf’s widespread popularity on the grid and used it to create this fun tournament to take their first step into the world of Live Streaming. The use of popular F1 stars who are golf fanatics and pairing them with actual golfers was a masterstroke as well. However, Williams man couldn’t help but embarrass himself in his rookie golf tournament. This is exactly what he planned not to do but couldn’t help himself as he revealed in the caption.

The caption read, “My main focus today was to try and not embarrass myself… mission failed 😂😂⛳️ not yet ready to quit the day job but had fun @max.homa 💪”

On this post, his girlfriend Lily Muni He, the professional golfer commented mocking Albon’s golfing skills. The Chinese golfer channeled her inner Taylor Swift to drop a hilariously fitting comment on the post. She wrote, “Karma is the guy talking trash, falling down on his swing👧🏻🤨”. Lily used the lyrics of Taylor Swift’s 2022 song Karma to mock her boyfriend.

However, not letting his girlfriend put him down, Pierre Gasly stepped in and uplifted his spirits. The Alpine man commented, “Man you played well!! Some nice shots out there!!”

Gasly can attest to this fact because he was right here during this competition of the F1 and Golf elites. Although this isn’t the only time the two have gone head to head.

Pierre Gasly Vs Alex Albon: Fans lock horns to choose their underdog of the season

Gasly joined Alpine in 2023 and is fighting against a well-adjusted teammate in the French team. On the other hand, long gone are the glory days of Williams as the British team fights at the bottom half of the gird. However, despite the challenges and setbacks, both drivers have proved their racing mettle for their teams. This is exactly why the fans are locking horns to choose the underdog of the season.

Albon? Well, the Thai-British driver has finished ahead of his teammate on 16 occasions compared to 3 for the rookie, with both unable to finish the 2023 Japanese GP. However, Albon has secured points on 7 occasions in his Williams which is incredible given the state of the car.
