Lewis Hamilton has been asking Mercedes for a race-winning car for over a year and a half now. The Briton has already shown signs of losing patience with the team. Amid the Subpar performance compared to Red Bull, the 7X world champion issued a reprimand toward Toto Wolff and Co. with a scary order. What did Lewis Hamilton have to say?

After what was a thrilling qualifying on Saturday where Lewis Hamilton took the pole by 0.003 of a second, the Briton could only manage a P4 in the race filled with struggles. Hamilton finished just behind Sergio Perez in P3 after showing a good pace on lower fuel loads. However, Briton really struggled with heavy fuels. Lewis Hamilton seems disappointed with the W14 as he issues a scary order to Toto Wolff and Co.

Lewis Hamilton has already expressed the variety of issues that he has had with W14. While the upgrades brought to Monaco did make the car much more drivable, it still is nowhere near the Red Bull. In the post-race interview, Hamilton advised that he’s been asking his team to take the Red Bull route of development for quite some time. According to @Motorsportcomtr’s Tweet, Lewis Hamilton said I tell them to go in the direction of Red Bull like a broken record. I want to see it this year or next year.”

McLaren is a team who also seems to have taken inspiration from the Red Bull design philosophy. With the new upgrades, McLaren leapfrogged the grid and is the second-fastest team now. However, this isn’t the first time that Lewis Hamilton has criticized his team for not listening to him.

It was only after the first race of the season that Lewis Hamilton started blaming his team and pointed fingers in their direction. Hamilton explained how he had already told the team about the problems with the concept. The Briton struggles with the forward sitting position in the car. As a result of Hamilton’s criticism, Mercedes acted and brought the B-Spec car to Monaco.

According to Marca.com, Lewis Hamilton said “Last year, I told them the issues that are with the car. I’ve driven so many cars in my life, so I know what a car needs, I know what a car doesn’t need. And I think it’s really about accountability, it’s about owning up and saying ‘yeah, you know what, we didn’t listen to you, it’s not where it needs to be and we’ve got to work”
