Lewis Hamilton is well into the 17th season of his F1 career, making him the most senior driver on the grid, just behind Fernando Alonso. And with this glorious experience, he has grown into a much more mature driver and has now taken on a senior role at Mercedes, where he’s helping the team develop the car in his own capacity. But who are we lying to? We all miss Lewis Hamilton’s youthful and fun energy, which he only appears to have on occasion.
To everyone’s delight, and despite the fact that he was just working, the Briton gave us one gem of a moment when he went to inspect Max Verstappen‘s Red Bull during the first session of pre-season testing in Bahrain. This was something we all understood given the prowess of Red Bull that we witnessed last season and are expected to see this season as well. But the posture and the vibe that he carried were pure and wholesome, just like a dad would have. Or rather, a grandad would have! And he shared this with his former teammate and good friend Valtteri Bottas.

A casual and chill Lewis is what we all love. So, as soon as the internet got a chance, it hopped on it and delivered some of the greatest F1 memes, which will certainly go into the hall of fame for the sport. But not far behind was the Twitter account of Ryan Air, who just had another field and a fun day in the office as it took a dig on the Briton.
Fans love Lewis Hamilton’s sly activities
The Mercedes driver was in detective mode last year as well. But it seems that since the problems at Mercedes aren’t entirely resolved, he has to keep his role going and get the team back on its feet to compete for the championship. And the strategy is simple: learn from your successful and strong opponents. So maybe we’ll see Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz snooping around as well.

The fans have loved the F1 tweets coming out of the Ryan Air joke factory. Hence, they were also quick to acknowledge Ryan Air’s efforts to keep up with Hamilton’s shenanigans and welcome them back after their absence was noted for quite some time recently.

I love how much you tweet about F1 despite having no correlation at all. You should be a sponsor.

Lewis’s dad’s or rather grandad’s energy was absolutely adorable. It does make us wonder how he’ll grow into a more serious driver in the coming years and which roles we can possibly see him taking up in F1 or otherwise.
