Charles Leclerc’s love for Ferrari has been evident in interviews. Whenever Leclerc was asked about his contract, he suggested that it was his dream to win the championship with Ferrari and that he would continue to pursue that dream. Leclerc’s godfather Jules Bianchi also dreamed of winning with Ferrari, and now Leclerc has taken it upon himself to fulfill Bianchi’s dream.
In the video posted on Instagram, Charles Leclerc talks about how Ferrari means everything to him. He talks about how it all started when he was 3 and a half years old and how he searched for the Red Ferrari as he watched his first race in Monaco. He continues to talk about his dream and the Ferrari journey so far. The caption to the post was, “The Dream Continues. Grateful to announce that I will continue my adventure in red. @ScuderiaFerrari”
However, despite the emotional announcement, the fans quickly ridiculed Leclerc’s dream as they recalled Ferrari’s blunders over the years. Let’s see what they had to say.
“Hope your mental health stays okay”: Fans warn Charles Leclerc as he signs the Ferrari extension
Ferrari is a name synonymous with racing. The first name that a person thinks about when the word Red Car or Racing car comes across is Ferrari. Yet, over the last decade and a half, Ferrari’s name in F1 has been synonymous with strategic failures. Over the last few years, most of what Ferrari has given Leclerc is trauma, including the infamous “Box Box” one. Unforced errors, strategic mess-ups, reliability issues, and bad decisions have all been a constant in Leclerc’s Ferrari F1 career.
Hence, fans came out to warn Leclerc of being wary of all this as he signed the extension. The Monegasque also became subject to mockery, as many asked him to give his therapist a new contract. This pointed toward the fans predicting Leclerc would be given more trauma by the Scuderia over the duration of his new contract. The fans commented:
“Get your therapist a new contract too”
“I hope your mental health stays okay your therapist must be happy asf :/“
“Well done mate, therapists all around the world have just doubled their salaries because of this”
“And well, more years of masochism and paying for therapy. For you I leave my emotional stability”
“Good luck, il predestinato…I love you, but I hope your therapist is also getting a contract extension”
“I think blud meant to type “the nightmare” in that caption”
However, not all the fans were making fun of Leclerc for signing an extension with Ferrari. Many were emotional and wished their best to the Monegasque. They said:
