Dutch champion Max Verstappen isn’t a man who fans regard as their favorite in Formula 1. Despite winning 15 races in 2022 and 25 races in the last two seasons, along with two back-to-back F1 championships, the Red Bull driver hasn’t got what it takes to be the most likable man on the grid. Often disliked and bullied online, Verstappen receives criticism more often than not, as happened recently after Sky Sports posted a video online.
Max Verstappen, in association with former Manchester City player Micah Richards and famed comedian Alan Carr, appeared in an interesting video lately. There, the Dutch driver shares intricate details about taking a turn on an F1 circuit. Verstappen said in the Sky Sports video, “Yeah, but you have a lot of runoff. So, even if you miss it, honestly.”

“The track goes like this, right? But if you go like that, it’s all right. It’s more where you know these walls are. The walls are like super close here,” the defending F1 champ went on. Carr, interrupts the F1 driver to say, “Why are you laughing? When you talk about these walls? I’m like I’m terrified. I’m terrified. You’re going ‘Hahaha walls!’. I’m like no.”
Verstappen says, “Just don’t hit them.” Carr replies, “No, okay I’ll try not to.” The 23-year-old further says, “If you’re scared close your eyes.” “You have got the worst advice ever. Don’t hit the walls and close your eyes. Wicked,” concludes the famed comedian. The video ends with Verstappen receiving an appraisal for the advice.
F1 fans slam Max Verstappen over his advice
The fans on the internet did not take the advice on a good note. As the video surfaced on the internet, they were quick to let their voices be heard online. The fans took to Twitter to share their reactions to the 2021 F1 champion. Calling him a “cheater“, the fans might be referring to the Red Bull budget cap breach in 2021.

He forgot one: leave room for other drivers, and not turn into them.

The best one he "forgot": Either get the race director on your side and/or overspend on sandwiches.

Admittedly, Max Verstappen often gets slammed for his 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, where he beat Lewis Hamilton to win his maiden F1 championship. In the controversial race where the then-race director Michael Masi played an important role, Verstappen still gets pounded on the internet for his win.
