Formula 1 has a reputation for being a brutal sport. Every driver exerts great effort to obtain the essential points, demonstrating the intensity of their devotion. And today, when Lewis Hamilton and Co. might have felt relieved, the young gun of McLaren was unable to control his emotions. Undoubtedly, the young McLaren driver Lando Norris may have believed that, after experiencing difficulties in the first two races, the Australian GP would be his chance to shine. Unfortunately, the papaya squad yet again could not place in the top 10, and in a recent clip surfacing the internet, we can see how the British driver made a devastating confession after a poor qualifying that angered McLaren supporters.

Norris struggled through a difficult qualifying session at the Melbourne circuit and eventually finished P13 in the second phase after making mistakes on his hot laps. Being a competitor of the midfield squad, McLaren’s poor performance was evident when the Briton finished three-tenths of a second behind Williams’ Alex Albon, who scored crucial points for the team to finish P10.

Team McLaren is positioned at the bottom of the championship standings and is still looking for points. After qualifying, Norris was spotted giving a lengthy interview in which he made a heartbreaking confession about how hard he is trying, but the MCL 60 is still lacking the pace and is not ready to meet the team’s expectations.

In a recent clip going viral on the internet, he said, “Just pushing too hard, really. I mean I need to put a pretty magical app to get together to get into Q3. So I guess I was trying for that, but just a bit too much over the limit so. Yeah, tough, like I thought I’d do a little bit better than where we were today. I think a little bit better was possible, but, yeah, just not driving as well as I need to, as I should be honest. So a bit disappointed with myself, but it is what it is.”

Later he elaborated more and said, “Like the mistakes, I was making was just all different corners. Just as soon as I try to push a little bit more in one corner and make a mistake there. So just yeah kind of feel like I have to drive at 95% rather than 100 and as soon as I try to push it to what I think is the limit is always over the limit. I need of exactly where the limit is  that’s all.”

The overwhelming interview of the British driver sparked the fans’ fury over McLaren’s tactics and the fact that they are providing their drivers with a substandard vehicle.

Zak Brown previously made it apparent that the MCL60’s major development wasn’t finished. And just a few days prior, the team had revealed that the significant changes wouldn’t be seen until after the Baku race. However, after witnessing an emotional Norris, the fans couldn’t help but lose their composure and were spotted howling at the Woking-based team. We have brought you some of the reactions.

Norris has been an impressive talent and has shown his faith in the team by signing a long-term contract with the papaya arm. And amidst that, the team has been failing consistently to provide him with a better car has made the fans outrageous. Among several other fans, one of them was so angry that the individual unusually threatened the Woking-based team.
