British F1 star George Russell is all set to start a new adventure with the Mercedes team in 2022. Now, the sport is entering a new era with a major overhaul in the regulations. Though many expect a shift in the power dynamics on the 2022 grid, Mercedes and Red Bull are the obvious choices for frontrunners this time as well.
Mercedes will unveil the much-awaited 2022 W-13 livery at a grand launch event on the 18th of February. Ahead of the launch, George Russell has revealed some interesting details for the new car. Red Bull, McLaren, Haas, and Aston Martin have already launched their 2022 car. However, Aston Martin went an extra step as they became the first team to take to the track with its all-new contender.
This is not the first time Russell will take the wheel of a Mercedes car. He made his debut for the Silver Arrows during the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix, replacing Lewis Hamilton, who tested positive for coronavirus. His potential in a competitive car was there for the world to see. Now, he is back with the team as their permanent pilot and fans are excited to see him gunning for wins regularly.

Mercedes W-13 looks structurally different: George Russell
While talking to Motorsport.com, Russell laid down his thoughts on the much-awaited Mercedes car. He recently joined the team at their headquarters in Brackley.
Preparations are well underway for the 2022 season and drivers are helping the team develop their car ahead of it.
As per his first impressions of the W-13, the car is turning out good and looks structurally different from its predecessor. “My first impressions of the W13 are interesting. The car looks very different from previous generation cars,” said Russell.
“Ground-pressing power is now produced completely differently. The vehicle has different features and we continue to work on all of them. There’s still a huge amount of work to be done to put everything together and improve driving as much as possible.
