After spending three years at Williams, George Russell is finally moving to Mercedes. Now, looking back at his stint with the Grove-based outfit there have been ups and downs. The incident that stands out for the Brit was the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola.

The Williams driver was chasing down Valtteri Bottas as they zipped around the Italian track. However, it wasn’t as easy as many thought it would be as the wet track made the situation more difficult. Russell tried to make a move on the Mercedes driver but in a matter of seconds they took each other out.

His final season with the Grove-based outfit was his best one, as he managed to score his first Formula One podium at the infamous Belgian Grand Prix, and finished the season with sixteen points to his name–taking the fifteenth spot in the drivers’ championship.
