Nicholas Latifi was bombarded with a lot of hate after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. His crash towards the end of the race changed the course of the title fight between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.

The Williams driver was abused on social media and has spent the last few days ignoring it. Now, over a week after the incident, the Canadian driver has spoken about it, and his former Williams teammate, George Russell, has come in support of Latifi.

Nicholas was battling with Mick Schumacher, and moments after that, he crashed into the barriers, which resulted in a safety car being brought on. Later, a controversial decision by the FIA also changed the course of the championship. As the chequered flag brought the race to an end, it was Verstappen who became world champion.

But, it didn’t end there, as Latifi was flooded with hateful messages on social media, which he addressed on Twitter. Russell soon tweeted as well, in support of his ex Williams teammate.

Russell wrote, Huge respect to you for speaking up, Nicholas Latifi. There’s no place for this kind of hatred in our world.”
