Though Russell finished P4, Hamilton also left with an arguably happy result. Moreover, this was the first time Silver Arrows looked right to compete with the very best.

Russell and Hamilton finished Q2 at P2 and P3. Later, for Q3, the table waltzed up and down consistently between Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull. Flying laps after flying laps, topping the table, sometimes Verstappen and other times Hamilton, the qualifying became interesting.

However, Russell was ultimately faster than his teammate Hamilton. A recent post saw a fan holding a sign board saying, “HAMILTON! RUSSELL IS FASTER THAN YOU.” This statement has garnered mixed reviews from the Twitter community. Some believe it’s arguably hateful while others just enjoy the meme.

Imagine spending your own money and free time to make a banner that’s hateful towards one driver, rather than make one which shows support to your fav… these people are literally obsessed 💀

While P4 was the highest the team could go, they were ahead of one Red Bull. Even two-tenths of a difference can make or break a race for any team, however, Mercedes might just work on it till the race arrives. The best part is that this is only Spain, and with this pace and development, the team might just turn it around for themselves.
What do you think will happen from here on? Is it going to be a three-way fight for the trophy?
