Williams have been one of the most impressive teams in the preseason testing so far. Ever since they have brought their new 2022 cars out to the track, the British team has encountered very few problems. There is a positive vibe within the team going into the new season, as was evident during the press conference.

Williams driver Nicholas Latifi mentioned that there is a lot of positivity currently within the team. But interestingly, George Russell, who is the former Williams driver, cheekily mentioned that Latifi was taking a dig at him.

“Is that aimed at me!?” said Russell when Nicholas spoke of the positive environment in the team. “We’re happy you left!” replied Nicholas to his former teammate.
Alex Albon speaks of the ‘great buzz’ at Williams
As quoted by Motorsport.com, Alex Albon, who replaced Russell this season, too revealed that there is a happy environment within the team. The former Red Bull driver stated he was enjoying his time with the British team.

“There’s a great buzz in the team. I like this team a lot. Obviously, we’ve had a short relationship, but the guys are great and very motivated to do well, which is important. They’ve come off a great year last year and the hope is to keep that momentum going,” said Albon.

“There’s new investment from Dorilton and they’re also very motivated, they’re very positive people and there’s a great combination there. I feel like we have the recipe for a great year and future really at Williams. I’m excited to see what it has to offer,” said The Thai driver.

It would be amazing to see the legendary team compete regularly in the points in the coming season. The team has endured some really tough years since 2018 and has been consistently been one of the slowest teams in F1.
However, they had a rejuvenated 2021 season and would look to build on their return to points last season. With this happy and positive environment is a start for the British team, let’s see if Williams can set the timings ablaze come the first race of the season.
