Mick Schumacher has had a devastating 2022 season. Despite a competitive car, he finished within the points on just 2 occasions. This poor performance led Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner to axe Mick Schumacher from the team. But according to Ralf Schumacher, his nephew, Mick, was expelled from the team for different reasons.
And on many occasions, Ralf criticized Steiner. That being said, Steiner has allegedly accused him of his attempts to grad Haas into a ‘public fight.’

A while back, the news went public that Mick Schumacher will be parting ways with Haas. And after the news broke, a lot of criticism came from his uncle Ralf Schumacher. Although the six-time GP winner was vocal throughout the year, the news of Haas looking for a driver lineup in 2023 fired up the driver turned pundit.
When asked by Sport Bild what are his view, Guenther Steiner said Ralf wanted to “cause a public fight”.
He added, “I’m not interested in that. I do what I do and he can say whatever he wants. I’m not interested in answering that because I’m not a self-promoter. My decision was certainly not influenced by Ralf’s behavior.”

Haas team boss revealed what made him part ways with Mick Schumacher
The last two seasons didn’t go the way Haas would have expected. To provide the team with experience, the American outfits have decided to expel Mick Schumacher. The more experienced Nico Hulkenberg will replace the son of the great Michael Schumacher for the season of 2023.

Speaking on the F1 beyond the grid podcast, Steiner said that Schumacher’s inclusion in the team was hindering the growth of Haas. He said, “Mick can [become] a good driver, or he’s already a good driver, But he can get better. But how long does it take us? Because he’s growing with us, he cannot make us grow. We said, How can we do that?”
“We looked around and we knew Nico, we had a few discussions in the years before with him and it never materialized that he came to work with us so obviously there was the respect there.”
