With the season moving toward the end, the top 3 in constructors’ standings look fixed. However, the battle further down the list is just starting to heat up. As each position decides the magnitude of prize money, the teams fighting for the 6th position are ready to give their all.

Swiss team Alfa Romeo started the season with a bang. The team sported the lightest car on the grid and made the most of it in points. However, the advantage wore off as the competitors tackled the weight issues with their respective cars. The Swiss team has stayed stagnant with a single point in the last 9 races.
The battle for 6th in the constructors’ standings
Ever since Alfa Romeo’s slump, Aston Martin has done well to catch up to them. The UK-based team has accrued 20 points in the last two races and moved within 7 points for the race for 6th. They have gained form at the right time after struggling throughout the season and will look to keep the momentum going.
Haas and AlphaTauri currently sit in 8th and 9th, respectively, with 34 points each to their name. They are 18 points behind Alfa Romeo and 11 behind Aston Martin with 4 more races to go.

Haas is going through a points drought, failing to score in their last 7 races. Their best result came way back in Austria when they scored 14 points. Team Principal Guenther Steiner, upset with the results, said, “Our car is good. But something either goes wrong in practice or in the race.”

AlphaTauri on the other hand has struggled for points throughout the season, bagging double-digit points only once at Baku. If Haas and Red Bull’s sister team can overcome their current slump, they can give Aston Martin and Alfa Romeo a run for their money.

The battle for 4th between McLaren and Alpine
Another battle to look forward to is the race for 4th between Fernando Alonso’s Alpine and Lando Norris’ McLaren. We say Norris’ McLaren and not Ricciardo’s McLaren because the Australian is going through one of the worst phases of his career lately. Lando, on the other hand, has shown tremendous pedigree and delivered the majority of points for the team.

The two teams currently have a gap of just 13 points with Alpine currently leading. It has been a topsy-turvy ride lately for the two as the tussle began in Singapore. Alpine was holding the 4th position but double DNF’d. The McLaren duo making the best of the situation, finished 4th (Norris) and 5th (Ricciardo).
