Esteban Ocon has been the obscure person of the F1 grid. He arguably doesn’t get as much recognition, often getting caught in controversies with fellow drivers. But, the Frenchman has got a unique personality. Even though it ain’t getting stardom yet, Ocon reminds us of that spark in him from time to time. According to Twitter, a fan asked Esteban for a “Hey” in the comments section of probably his TikTok account. The fan had commented, “can I get a hey from the icon himself? On this, the Alpine driver wittily responded, “*the ocon“. This reply from the Ocon has made fans react to appreciate his quick wit and sense of humor.
Usually, Ocon does not garner as much attention individually. He often comes up in conversation while speaking about other drivers. His 2018 fight with Max Verstappen in Brazil is a classic example of this trend. Even in 2022, Ocon consistently clashed with his world champion teammate Fernando Alonso.

Even after Alonso has left Alpine for 2023, Esteban ain’t getting enough spotlight. Especially after his fellow Frenchman Pierre Gasly came to replace Fernando, Ocon will have to again probably share the spotlight this season. Nonetheless, Ocon would love to make headlines in the 2023 season as well. While he has been quite impressive in the last 2 years, the coming of Gasly as his teammate may pose new challenges and things can go bad. So, Esteban may want to establish his status at Alpine and not let Pierre beat him.

With the 2023 season just a month away, the Alpine duo would like to start off their stint on a good note. Esteban Ocon does not want to sour things up with Pierre Gasly right up front. But, can he maintain Alpine as his team like his peers have done?
