A damming comment from the world champion Sebastian Vettel might signal an end to his F1 career. The German is an environmentalist and feels racing makes him a hypocrite. Vettel even used his Miami GP helmet to spread the message about global warming.
But we’re not convinced about Vettel’s retirement by his comments alone. Former racing driver Marc Surer believes all signs are pointing towards retirement. He thinks the German is not motivated enough to take part in Formula 1 for another season. This might mean we’re seeing the last of the four-time world champions in a Formula 1 single-seater.

Vettel appeared on the BBC’s Question time panel show and admitted to being an environmental hypocrite. “I’m not a saint. When I get out of the car, of course I’m thinking ’is this something we should do?’” said the German. The comments made us doubt his future in the sport. And Marc Surer is also in agreement as he shares his insights on the growing rumor.
“It doesn’t really seem that the team can become champion. Then why does he need all this? I see him fulfilling the contract and saying goodbye,” said Marc Surer. Vettel’s time in Formula 1 is really coming to a close if you are to believe all the rumors.
Sebastian Vettel will stay true to the challenge till the end
Even though there’s a ‘lack of motivation’ and ‘retirement’ rumors are making their rounds, Surer believes the German will still push till the very end and fight for his team.

“The fact that he returned from having coronavirus to continue to race speaks for itself. He is trying to help the team, push it forward, and there are signs of progress. Vettel is doing his job,” said Surer.
We’re not sure how close to reality the rumors are or where Vettel stands. But the German is a true professional and he will fight for Aston Martin in every race.

It just would be a shame to see the four-time world champion bow out of the sport. But we hopefully will see him back in the paddocks in some capacity. Even if it’s not as a driver.
