There are massive expectations from Scuderia Ferrari for the upcoming 2023 F1 season. After being so close yet so far for the title fight in 2022, the Italian team is expected to break their unlucky streak and take home the championships. However, the team still has a long way to go, and snatching the crown from Red Bull will not be a simple task, anyway. Therefore, the Maranello-based team is all set for the ultimate task this season; boosting their ammunition being prepared.

As per Formula.uno, Ferrari has decided to use four engines in 2023. In all 23 races, the Italian team would want to use one more than the permitted limit of three engines per season. There will be a grid penalty for the same, but the Maranello brigade feels it’s worth the risk to operate the engines on a more powerful mode.

On a side note, the Tifosi can expect better reliability from the Prancing Horse this season. After Ferrari suffered back-to-back engine issues with their F1-75, the Italian brigade is hopeful not to have it repeated in 2023 with the latest SF-23.

The former Alfa Romeo top executive has recently opened up on the reliability prospect of Ferrari. Vasseur, who jumped to save Ferrari from its plight, said the team has worked enough back in the factory to avoid the repetition of 2022 during Ferrari’s livery launch.

As per PlanetF1, he said, “Last year it’s not a secret that it was not the best aspect of the engine, but we did a good job at the factory and I think that now we are ready for the season.”

“I think that last year that the window for the engine was very small, and let’s see what happens this season, but I think we are in a good place,” further asserted Fred Vasseur.
