Calling Alpine “too slow” the former Red Bull star made his first call even before the season commenced. However, everything was done out of fun, as Gasly made the call while he was in his white Alpine road car in the Euro tunnel.

The official Twitter handle of Alpine posted the entire incident on the micro-blogging site with a caption, “@PierreGasly, always thinking of pitstops, even in the middle of the eurotunnel.” This is where Gasly spoke up, “Guys, the pit-stop is too slow. It will have to be reworked.”

The French driver replaced Aston Martin-bound Fernando Alonso at the Enstone-based team, whereas he left the place at AlphaTauri for Nyck de Vries to pick it up. With two French stars, Alpine, the French team expects to improve from their past performances.

As per the report published by F1, Rossi, on Gasly and his experience, said, “Hopefully he’s going to bring what we need, which is to continue developing the car, because at the moment, we are still pretty much in the midfield, and we need to take the car a notch up.”

For that, you need drivers that are not only capable only to go fast and score points with the potential the car gives us, but also to take it to the next level,” further stated the French Team’s CEO.

As it stands, Alpine looks to come out better as a team with two young guns at their disposal for the new season unless the French civil war breaks down between Gasly and Ocon. The Enstone-based team finished their 2022 season in P4. Now they are expected to hold their position and give the top three Red Bull, Ferrari, and Mercedes a run for their money.
