With speculations surrounding the uncertain future of multiple drivers, Binotto has further thrown Robert Shwartzman’s name in the roulette for next season. The news will come as a big blow for Mick in particular, as his future is also uncertain. To add to that, Guenther Steiner recently criticized Mick for his inconsistency.

Binotto believes the Ferrari reserve driver deserves a chance in an F1 vehicle. Speaking to motorsport.com, Binotto said“Robert is a fantastic driver, I think he is very fast, especially in an F1 car.” (Translated from Google Translate)

Binotto further added that many drivers do great in F3 and F2 but fail to perform at the pinnacle of motorsport. However, he doesn’t think that is the case with Robert.

The Italian concluded, “I think he has improved as drivers. He has developed and is much more mature now, even compared to a year ago. So I think he deserves a seat. We know it’s very difficult now, but hopefully it will happen in the future.”

Ferrari and Mick Schumacher will discuss the future in the coming days

Mattia Binotto has said he will sit down with Mick Schumacher to discuss his future with Ferrari. Mick was elected a member of Ferrari’s Driving Academy (FDA) in 2019 after winning the F3 Championship the earlier year. However, with rumors surrounding Mick’s future with Haas, he is also speculated to leave the FDA.

The Italian claimed that they have invested a lot in the FDA. He also added“The reason for that is that we believe it’s important to develop the best talent and look for the future, to try to find the best talent for the red car.”

He further stated, “With Mick, as we said at the start of the season, it’s important for Mick this season to improve. We will in a few races sit down with him, make a balance of the season, and we’ll do that as well together with Haas and decide for his best future.”
