One must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope. Ferrari’s showing at all the races so far has been nothing short of a horror show for the Tifosi and its drivers. Charles Leclerc expressed his criticism and concerns over the SF23 amidst the horror show. However, Frederic Vasseur is satisfied with Leclerc’s criticism and has accepted what the Monegasque conveyed. What did Leclerc say and why did Vasseur accept it?

Charles Leclerc in his SF-23 has had a horrible start to the season. The Monegasque was expected to challenge Max Verstappen for the title but has ended up with 2 retirements in 3 races. The only race where he did not retire was plagued by a penalty. Leclerc only has 6 points to his name after these 3 races, whereas Max Verstappen is on 69 with 2 race wins. The story has more or less been the same for Carlos Sainz who seems to be struggling in the SF-23.

Frederic Vasseur suggested that Leclerc was very confident at the start of the season and nothing went his way. However, the Frenchman is satisfied with Leclerc’s displeasure and explains that he would’ve been worried if he was calm.

According to motorsport.nextgen-auto.com, Frederic Vasseur said, “The retirement in Bahrain, the penalty in Jeddah, another retirement in Melbourne. Drivers often face interviews immediately after the race and when things haven’t gone well, frustration is hard to hide. I would worry more if he was completely calm, honestly. His displeasure is understandable”

Charles Leclerc went off at Turn 3 on Lap 1 after turning into Lance Stroll, which led to him being beached in the gravel. Leclerc believes it was a racing incident and suggests that he could not have done anything differently. The Monegasque went on the outside of Stroll when he saw an opportunity. However, the Canadian was sandwiched between Leclerc and Alonso, which unfortunately led to him hitting the Ferrari driver.

According to Planetf1.com, Charles Leclerc said, “It was unfortunate to end the race this way today, but it was a racing incident and I don’t think that we could have done anything differently, I saw that he was blocked by Fernando, suddenly he braked a little early, I saw space on the left and I went for it but unfortunately Lance found himself between me and Fernando.”
