Ferrari is finally ready to go full throttle with Charles Leclerc. It has been eight years since Leclerc has been associated with Ferrari and he has been one of the best young talents the team has seen. Unfortunately, the run in his dream team has led to zero world championships so far.

But it looks like Ferrari wants to change that. After Frédéric Vasseur was promoted to team principal, he established that Leclerc would be supported better by the entire team. And although the driver has had to face a very unfulfilling experience in the Italian team, he has renewed his contract with the Prancing Horse. But this time it looks like Vasseur will do him justice.

After a subpar experience with Ferrari, it was surprising to see Charles Leclerc renew his contract with the team. It was all he wanted since his childhood, and the struggles over the past few seasons would not change his path. While he must have felt like he was sidelined all these years, his perseverance finally seems to have paid off as he has been promised a winning car next season.

In an interview with Gazzetta, Vasseur spoke about the team’s relationship with Leclerc. He stated, “Charles’ bond with Ferrari goes beyond that of a driver with his team.” He further explained, “Leclerc has been part of the Ferrari family for eight years now, since before he wore the Prancing Horse suit. The DNA of our company as well as its values are part of it and it was therefore natural to agree on the renewal of our collaboration.”

Now that Leclerc’s contract has been renewed, Vasseur said, “We know his relentless desire to push his limits and we appreciate his great ability to duel and overtake in races. We are determined to give Charles a winning car, and I know that his decision and commitment will be elements that can make the difference to the goals we want to achieve.”

Vasseur has a history with Leclerc, having been at Sauber-Alfa Romeo when Leclerc made his Formula 1 debut. Before Leclerc joined the team, he was enrolled in the Maranello Academy for Ferrari racing. The driver and principal have shared a bond of respect with Frédéric Vasseur being acquainted with Leclerc for a while now. While renewing Leclerc’s contract, Ferrari believes the driver to be a key element in their project to return to their peak competitiveness in the coming years.
