F1’s much-needed brief interlude has taken teams off the grid until the last week of August. Drivers, team owners, and engineers are enjoying the break- relaxing and doing the things they love. While most individuals have tried keeping a low profile, some have opted to update their fans through social media. Meanwhile, fans have also spotted those who aren’t active on social media. Ferrari’s team principal, Frederic Vasseur, was recently spotted in Paris.

The Olympics fever has taken over the F1 paddock. Drivers are making their apparent ‘cameos’ in the games. While Lewis Hamilton sent out good wishes for his best friend, Miles Chamley-Watson, Frederic Vasseur enjoyed himself at the volleyball arena. Luckily, this wasn’t another doppelganger episode! The Ferrari boss was actually in the audience relishing the thrill of volleyball.

X user @FIREAKS shared the picture of Vasseur with the caption: “i need vasseur to stop watching volleyball at the olympics and start fixing the car.“ Well, it seems like a valid point. Ferrari was the top contender at the beginning of the 2024 season. But soon, the SF24’s flaws were out. Bouncing issues, tire problems, and much more have troubled the Maranello-based outfit in the recent races. The worst-hit driver was Charles Leclerc who missed out on crucial points in three consecutive races. 

However, Fred deserves a little break as well. The team boss has worked relentlessly to improve Ferrari’s conditions. And yes, a few debacles don’t mean the team is deteriorating. Maybe their upgrades didn’t work the way they wanted them to work. Nonetheless, there is always scope to redeem themselves.

While drivers’ look-alikes have taken over the glorious Games, F1 stars also might be huddling up in Paris to witness the festival of sports – the Olympics. So far, only Vasseur has been seen in the crowd, but hopefully, Oscar Piastri will give his updates soon. Why Oscar? Because he too is in Paris right now!

It looks like the McLaren boys are having the time of their lives during summer break. While Lando Norris is spending his time playing golf with Zak Brown; also bruising himself, Oscar Piastri has reached the Eiffel Tower. Is he there looking for his ‘clone’? This could be a possibility. But, the Aussie is reveling in some fancy croissant at a Parisian cafe.

McLaren‘s official Instagram handle shared a carousel of Piastri in Paris. F1’s ‘Mini GOAT’ is utilizing his time off. And maybe, he could meet Frank Rijken, who knows? After all, Piastri is aware of the memes going around on social media.

It’s good to see the F1 personalities indulging in their side quests. This summer break was much needed, as the teams could relax their always-busy brains for a while. But, such respites fly away like fleeting birds. Soon, the action of F1 will commence, Frederic Vasseur will return to his strategic stance, and Oscar too shall go back into his cockpit to fight for the championship.
