After years of not winning a championship, it looks like Ferrari is not having it anymore. 2025 has to be their year and Fred Vasseur is working overtime to make that happen. Bringing in Lewis Hamilton for $500 million was just Phase 1 of the plan and it looks like Phase 2 has been implemented as well.

Divide and conquer is the strategy that Ferrari has implemented to take down the Silver Arrow for good. Currently, Mercedes is P4 behind McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull. But Vasseur will not be okay with them being P2, and definitely not with Mercedes being anywhere close to them. That’s why, Ferrari’s latest move, pulled in some key members from Mercedes to widen the gap.

While we wait for Adrian Newey to answer to Ferrari’s offer, the team has brought in two key members from the Mercedes garage. Loïc Serra and Jérôme d’Ambrosio have now made their move to the stables of the Prancing Horse.

Back during his time in Mercedes, d’Ambrosio worked as an adviser for Toto Wolff. He was being trained by the Austrian to take on a more senior role in Mercedes before Ferrari gave him an offer that he couldn’t refuse.

On the other hand, Loïc Serra will be the new head of chassis performance engineering and will work on improving the car’s stability and main frame. He will be working with Enrico Cardile, who works on areas such as Vehicle performance, Track engineering, Aerodynamic development, and operations.

On October 1, the two new members will put on the Red Overalls and start their new roles in the oldest and most successful team in Formula 1. This is all a part of Vasseur’s master plan to put together a team that can bring a happier day for the Tifosi.

Aston Martin is creeping up on them, and the Silver Arrows just lost two crucial members. However, there have been many rumors since the beginning of the season in Bahrain where Max Verstappen was rumored to leave Red Bull for Mercedes. This was mainly because of how unstable the situation with the stakeholders was and Jos Verstappen was vocal about not being happy with Christian Horner.
