Lewis Hamilton might have got into trouble with his future boss even before joining Ferrari. The Briton and the Scuderia team boss Fred Vasseur disagree over Max Verstappen’s behavior on the team radio at the Hungarian GP. The Red Bull racer seemed to be at loggerheads with his engineer Gianpiero Lambiase in Budapest. Since he found it hard to gain control of his RB-20, Max all but shouted at Lambiase through the contacting device, giving rise to tension between him and the Red Bull official.
While Lewis Hamilton beat Max Verstappen at the Hungaroring, he also disagreed with the Dutchman over his conduct during the race. The Briton has won the World Championship 4 more times than Max has, and thus he knows how to keep calm in the face of frustration. That’s what makes him a serial winner. Lewis called Max out for shouting over the team radio. But, the Brit’s soon-to-be boss Fred Vasseur disagreed with his comments on the Dutch lion.
Speaking on Verstappen and Lambiase’s exchange at the Hungarian GP, Lewis Hamilton had said, “That’s not how a world champion should behave.” When Fred Vasseur appeared at the Belgian GP press conference, an interviewer threw a challenging question at him. The Frenchman was asked about his views on what Hamilton had to say about Max Verstappen’s behavior. Responding to that, the 56-year-old opposed the stand of his future recruit.

F1 is undoubtedly a high-tension sport where drivers can be on cloud nine in one moment of the race and can be livid in the other. It makes the sport dramatic. The teams’ radio conversations are a source of entertainment for the audience. However, according to Fred Vasseur, F1’s media coverage should avoid making a public spectacle out of the racers’ talks with their engineers on the radio.
