Lewis Hamilton has got one of the closest relationships with his brother Nicolas Hamilton. Despite suffering from a form of cerebral palsy, Nicolas has been racing in the British Touring car championship for the last few years. He has to be one of the bravest drivers out there who risks his life in such a dire health condition. To back his grit, Nicolas revealed a gutsy story of his early racing days.
In 2015, Nicolas had just begun racing the British Touring car series. As per the Irish Mirror, in an interview with the Express, he mentioned how he likes to fight with his condition. He said, “I don’t believe in medication. Well, it’s not that I don’t believe in it but my mum has always brought me up with not taking painkillers and just to go through it yourself.”

It may be shocking to hear that Nicolas went without any medication for his cerebral palsy. Yet, today he is trying to live a normal as a racing driver. Nicolas further told the Express how his ribs popped out during a race.
He said, “It’s constant. Right now talking to you I can feel one of my ribs on my right side has popped out. Once, while racing round a corner at Donington, four ribs came out.”
We have seen gutsy athletes tackle injuries and still compete fiercely before. But for Nicolas, to race with his condition, with ribs popping out, is commendable.
Lewis Hamilton must be immensely proud of his brother. Nicolas scored his first-ever point in the British Touring car series in 2020. Besides this, he also has got some flavor of F1 too, courtesy of his 7-time champion brother.
