The Spaniard follows the footsteps of his father, Carlos Sainz Sr. who once even ran for the vice-president position for Real Madrid. Incredibly, another F1 driver who is an honorary member of the club is the former world champion, Fernando Alonso.

Recently, the Ferrari ace on his way back from the training session ran into the Tifosi. The fans were in high spirits to meet the F1 star and requested a selfie and an autograph. Sainz pulled over his vehicle for a quick selfie with his adoring fan. However, he refused to sign the shirt presented by the following supporter.

They gave the Los Blancos supporter a Lionel Messi, F.C. Barcelona kit to sign, which he immediately refused and drove away from the scene. Notably, Real Madrid and F.C. Barcelona share a huge rivalry in the world of soccer and are the two largest cities in Spain.

To address the dissent, the fan shouted ‘Forza Barca’ to support the soccer club. Sainz replied by honoring his F1 crew as he said “Forza Ferrari, F*ck.” (Translated using Twitter)

Can Carlos Sainz make a comeback like Real Madrid?

In the previous football season, the Spanish soccer club dominated in the various championships it contested. Remarkably, it won the LA LIGA title, UEFA Champions League title, and the Spanish Super cup. The team showed great strength and perseverance to take home the silverware and register themselves as the top European club.

However, it was not a cakewalk for them to win all these titles. Many times during the season, they found themselves on the back foot and had an uphill battle ahead of them. All soccer fans pegged them to be eliminated before the finals. Yet, they kept their heads down and played exceptional soccer on the pitch to let their skills do the talking.

Similarly, Carlos Sainz finds himself on the back foot during the 2022 season. Poor Ferrari strategies, the F1-75 reliability issues, and driver errors have been the thorn in his side. Arguably, for the first time in his career, he has a car with the capability of winning a Grand Prix. Given that, he has not performed at the same level as his teammate, Charles Leclerc.

Currently, he is P4 in the championship with 144 points to his name. He faces a deficit of 26 and 89 points to Leclerc and Verstappen, respectively. With 10 races remaining in the season, it is a strenuous task to close the gap on the leaders. Nevertheless, you can’t reach the F1 summit by backing down from a challenge.

Do you think like Real Madrid, the smooth operator can make a comeback in the rest of the 2022 season?
