George Russell had an amazing run of Top-5 finishes before the summer break. Although since then, he has encountered some struggles and had some major incidents too. In the Brazilian GP qualifying at Interlagos, he beached his W13 in the gravel, bringing out the red flag. While he was alright, he broke his headrest during this incident.

He went straight on through the gravel to just save himself from hitting the barriers. Despite that, it wasn’t a lucky escape for him. As he tried to rotate his car around 180 degrees and beached it into the gravel.

Russell continued saying that the car was good, “Oh yeh, there should be no damage, always a bit tentative when it’s been lifted onto the tow truck, and there’s a lot of gravel, so you know the guys are gonna have to take the car to pieces tonight just to make sure we’ve got all the gravel out”
