This is true, we discussed that: Stefano Domenicali

As reported by GPBlog, the former Ferrari team boss recalled the time when he showed an interest in signing Hamilton. He also mentioned that although the move never came together, he will not blame Hamilton for deciding to go with Mercedes.

“To be honest, yes. This is true, we discussed that, “ Stefano confessed.

“Today, that period has passed away. There is a movie called Sliding Doors. There are moments when you get in an elevator, you stay on the floor. That was the situation that Lewis lived in at that specific time of his life. You cannot blame his choice,” said the former Ferrari boss.

“Of course I look at the color and the red, it’s just… it’s still red. I have a couple of Ferraris at home, so I do get to drive a Ferrari, just not the one! For everyone, that’s a dream position to be in. It was just never really fully on the cards for me.”

I’ll never know fully exactly why, but I wish them all the best and I’m going to spend the next bit of my time stopping them from winning the championship!” concluded Lewis.
