Even though in the recent past he has had comparable machinery to fight for world titles, yet, he has consistently outperformed his teammate by a country mile. Being a direct competitor of 7x champion, Lewis Hamilton, he’s always been hailed as the one who dethroned him. But what about the likes of Michael Schumacher?

The 2x champion has been often compared to the best drivers of the past. Statistics are one thing, but what about the people who have seen the likes of Schumacher first-hand? At Ferrari, where the German-built his legacy, his boss Jean Todt was witnessing greatness with the best seats in the house.

When Corriere della Sera asked Todt about Verstappen’s comparisons with Schumacher, he said, “Fast, makes few mistakes. He’s a fighter like Michael. But on a human level, I know Max too little to judge him.”

The 25-year-old Dutch racing ace has been lavished with many compliments since he took up the mantle of dominating this sport. That being said, the Dutch lion isn’t too fussed about him being compared with the likes of Schumacher and Hamilton.
Mirror UK quoted him as saying, “I don’t really think about where I am between all of the all-time greats in terms of championships or wins. I just want to do my job. I, of course, know I have a contract through 2028, so I want to try and win more with this team–more races and potentially championships.”
