Red Bull boss Christian Horner is over the moon that Max Verstappen became a world champion after a dramatic race at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Former Spice Girl and wife to Christian, Geri stated that the 2021 season has been tough on the Red Bull team principal. But, she is glad the Milton-Keynes-based outfit pulled through.

Christian Horner’s wife, Geri explains how tough the season was
Undoubtedly the 2021 season has been full of ups and downs for the Red Bull boss. Nevertheless, Horner is glad his Dutch driver came out on top and become a world champion. Geri Halliwell reveals how much of a toll the season took on Christian.
In an interview with Sky Sports, as quoted by The Sun, She said, “Well, forgive me for being this honest, but I have to say, Christian told me this has been the toughest year he has ever experienced.”

“But, they are such a good team who pull together,” Geri explained.

Horner has no doubts of Max Verstappen being a world champion
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was the title-deciding race between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. But a safety car towards the end of the race turned the odds of the championship, which saw the Red Bull driver come out on top as champion of the word.

As quoted by PlanetF1, Horner said, “He’s the World Champion, he’s a deserving World Champion…well, nobody can take that away from him.”

“I think they have been the outstanding team, they have done their job this year. Max has driven with heart, with passion, with determination. He’s had bad luck and he got a little bit lucky with the Safety Car tonight, but he had to make it pay,” Horner explained.

With a few months left before the start of the 2022 season, the Dutch driver is hoping to defend his title but, as for now, he will savor the moment of being a world champion.
