It’s Ford vs Ferrari all over again! Who would have thought that the Ford Motor Company will make an F1 return in reality? Of course, there were all sorts of speculations about Ford and Red Bull Racing getting together from 2026 onwards. But there was no confirmation from either party. And now about 30 minutes from Red Bull’s 2023 season launch, Ford announces the elusive news. That is a crazy coincidence! Nonetheless, the awaited moment is here and Ford will return to F1 in 2026 for the new engine regulations.
According to Formula 1’s Twitter, Ford will be returning to F1 after a long time. This has taken fans beyond the horizon of excitement. Several fans are damn happy to see a Ford compete against Ferrari again like back in the 60s at Le Mans.
The 2019 movie Ford vs. Ferrari immortalized the American car brand’s rivalry with the Scuderia Ferrari. While the movie raked in huge acclaim, it also showed Ford’s prowess in beating Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Perhaps, F1 Fans will hope for a similar battle between two iconic brands with Red Bull reigniting this historic rivalry.

The timing of it certainly confirms the obvious. Given Ford’s announcement has come 30 minutes ahead of Red Bull’s 2023 car launch, it is confirmed that the American giant will join forces again at Milton Keynes. Apparently, it is a full circle for Ford as they last left F1 selling their Jaguar F1 team to RBR itself. Talk about meant to be.

It may be an engine collaboration with Ford’s expertise contributing to Red Bull’s development of the 2026 engine. Meanwhile, it also can be a marketing collaboration with Ford badging Red Bull’s engines under their logo and getting marketing exposure with the team name.
