Tom Clarkson during the F1 nation podcast asked Damon Hill to choose the best driver from Verstappen, Hamilton, and Alonso, purely based on their pace. With hesitation, Hill chose Max Verstappen complimenting him on his Ayrton Senna-like driving style explaining how Lewis Hamilton isn’t ready to get on the edge and into the scary zone as much as Verstappen does.

According to The F1 Nation podcast, Damon Hill said “Right now, for pace, I would say [Max] Verstappen. I would say in other words just sheer one lappery. I think he’s got that [Ayrton] Senna-esque kind of scary, one-the-edge speed. I know Lewis [Hamilton] has that too but he’s a tiny bit more [Alain] Prost-like, a little bit more neat and tidy. It’s just that willingness that Max has to go into that danger zone, that’s the scary bit”
We do agree with Damon Hill’s comments as we’ve noticed many times how Max Verstappen hustles the car around the track. It almost seems like the car is his puppet and doing exactly what Max asks of it. The Dutchman’s qualifying at the 2023 Monaco GP was one of the finest examples of Verstappen driving in the danger zone. Nevertheless, a few days ago Damon Hill issued a warning for Lewis Hamilton.

However, Damon Hill suggested that Lewis Hamilton made a risky comment as he’s the next one in line being the second oldest driver on the grid.

According to Express.co.uk, Damon Hill said: “I thought he was playing with fire a little bit with the friendly dig he gave Fernando Alonso about jumping him at the start, saying that it’s because he’s a bit old now because the second oldest guy in Formula One is Lewis Hamilton!”
