Last year the way Verstappen celebrated his incredible win at the French Grand Prix grabbed the attention of many and one among them was the French soccer superstar Kylian Mbappe.

In a blistering season batting with rival Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen, with the help of some fantastic team strategies, pulled off a great win at the French Circuit. On the penultimate lap, the Dutch lion overtook the seven times champion and gained a 2.9 second lead. The French Grand Prix was held at the home nation of Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe. And as it turns out, the player had a close eye on the race.

After crossing the chequered flag, Max Verstappen chose to celebrate his win in Mbappe’s style. He sat on his RB16B with his folded hands, just like the PSG player does after scoring a goal. Post the race Kylian Mbappe shared an Instagram story to applaud the Dutchman’s efforts. He wrote, “Congratulations Max Verstappen. Great celebration.”
