Meanwhile, Argentine racing driver, Facundo Ardusso, is excited to cheer the Argentinian team for the Round of 16 clash. Argentina will face off against Australia on December 3.

Facundo Ardusso raced in the Argentine Formula Renault series from 2006 to 2009. He also raced in the touring car series named TC 2000.

To get things exciting, Ardusso posted on his Twitter tagging Australian F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo. He asked Ricciardo whether they should bet something for the Round of 16 match between their home countries.

Ardusso tweeted, “Daniel Ricciardo, do we bet something for Saturday? It is known that I am a fan of yours in motorsports.” [translated via Google]

Daniel Ricciardo hasn’t responded to the Argentinian’s tweet yet though we might hear from him sooner or later. All in all, it would surely be difficult to bet against soccer legend Lionel Messi for the $50 Million worth Australian.

Daniel Ricciardo and his F1 mates show their passion for the World Cup

Even before the World began, F1 drivers were in soccer mode in the paddock. Several drivers were seen dribbling and playing some footsie for fun on race weekends.

The Alpine drivers Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon were involved in some casual soccer fun with SantosFC player Yeferson Soteldo at the Brazilian GP weekend.

Besides them, even Charles Leclerc was practicing his dribbling skills in the Ferrari garage. The Ferrari social team posted the footage on Twitter asking for a spot for Leclerc at the World Cup.

At the Abu Dhabi weekend, all drivers revealed who they expect to win the Cup. All drivers mostly responded with their home teams as their favorites. But the Alfa Romeo drivers were neutral, picking Switzerland, Belgium, or Portugal to win.

Ricciardo backed his home team, Australia, from Group D to take the crown. Although the former Red Bull driver put it cryptically as another team from Group D – France can also triumph. Both France and Australia have qualified for the Last 16 in Qatar.

Lewis Hamilton chuckled to say that he will have to make a combined jersey for Brazil and England.
