Formula 1 is moving towards an interesting storyline from the looks of it. And if the stars align, we may have a titanic battle in the making while Lewis Hamilton tries to fend for that elusive 8th world title. No, it’s not a re-hash of the epic duel between Hamilton and Max Verstappen in 2021. We may be going more than a decade in the past. The sequel to Lewis Hamilton v. Hamilton is slowly but steadily getting back up there. And if we know anything about Alonso, we know even if he gets half a sniff at the championship, he’ll take it. With how Aston Martin has been going, he has more than half a sniff in sight. But what about Hamilton and Alonso in equal machinery?
When such a question was posed to Hamilton, he reportedly said, “I would have no problem racing with Alonso again. If the stars align, of course. But I don’t think that will happen.”

Back at McLaren in 2007, both drivers fought tooth and nail to give us one epic rivalry. Now that both of them are supposedly at their peaks, it means a rematch would only result in more fireworks for the fans. And Alonso is pretty amiable about it, too.
He told the Daily Mail, “It would be nice to end our careers together. I’d love that. We had a difficult season, but we respected what the other was doing on track and still do. We each consider the other to be a talented driver and one of the toughest competitors we have ever met.”
